“ Awww, what a pleasant surprise—but not really a shock—Lux Bar delivers! It’s Saturday, and my friend and I were just the right type of confident to think we could stroll into Lux Bar and snag a table. You’ve got to aim high, folks. The host quoted a 45-minute to 1-hour wait or suggested grabbing a seat at the bar. We took our chances at the bar, settled in, and—no sooner than we made peace with that—ding! A text came through saying our table was ready. A+ for efficiency, Lux! We decided to stay put and had the pleasure of meeting bartender extraordinaire Kyle, who took amazing care of us (and, yes, cute as a button!). The menu? Fantastic. I went with the salmon and a side of broccoli, while my friend enjoyed the chili, house chips, and a salad. The food arrived quickly, piping hot, and absolutely delicious. And, of course, I couldn’t skip dessert—the chocolate cake was everything! The espresso ice cream while yummy doesn’t agree with the tummy, but my friend happily handled that part. A few glasses of wine, shots, and cocktails later, I’m back on my couch, smiling about a lovely Saturday in the greatest city—with a new favorite bar. Cheers, Lux Bar—you’ve earned it! ”
“ Ate at the bar and Kevin made it great. Extraordinary service. Espresso Martini and a Manhattan done right. Brunch ordered steak and eggs and the order was split for two without asking. None of that extra plate and shove it yourself business! Absolutely will go here next time I'm in Chicago. ”
“ Came here for brunch but they still serve their dinner menu all day, we sat upstairs which has a great view over the area. They have an awesome cocktail selection and state they can make any drink you want not on the menu. Great espresso Martinis and dirty ones with blue cheese olives. Def get the tomato bisque and French onion to start, we also got the Cobb and they split it for us. For dessert you have to get the cookie skillet, it was unreal. Service was super attentive even though the place was packed. ”

One person in our group ordered the onion soup and finished it well before the rest of our meals arrived. The virgin mojito was just okay. “ High end American food, but mostly a bar for sure. The food menu was minimal which helps for indecisive people like me, but seems like their drink menu was much bigger. I was there to eat with friends so my experience was just alright. I had the Classic Burger with cheese, cooked medium. They cooked it just as I asked, and it was pretty good. My two complaints would be that the burger was too tall for me to fit in my mouth, making my experience really messy. But that could be just me. And I felt that the burger patty itself was not very seasoned. Without physically adding ketchup to the burger, it tasted pretty bland and just meaty. Restaurant itself was very nice looking place, I probably would not come to eat here again unless I was coming back to try some of their drinks with my friends. ”
